Butterfly cloud A common sight in many Sri Lankan parks: large clusters of butterflies stationed to the ground feeding on dung. As you approach with a jeep, they all fly out together, creating a cloud of butterflies that you pass through. I've made it a habit to anticipate on it, shouting "butterfly cloud!" whilst moving my arms in a rainbow motion to receive them. You read it here first, I'm not always a serious man. 1. Lol… reminds me of a time my husband and I were riding down a mountain pass on bikes. The road was still closed to autos and we were scaring up bunches of butterflies that were resting on the blacktop. When we got to the bottom I took my helmet off and released a slightly dazed, but unharmed butterfly :p Posted 10 years ago, modified 10 years ago
    1. I'm sure it had the trip of a lifetime, which is a rather short lifetime in the case of butterflies :) Posted 10 years ago

Catopsilia pomona is a medium-sized pierid butterfly found in Asia, Cambodia and parts of Australia. The species gets its name from its habit of migration. Some early authors considered them as two distinct species "Catopsilia crocale" and "Catopsilia pomona".
