Butterfly cloud
A common sight in many Sri Lankan parks: large clusters of butterflies stationed to the ground feeding on dung. As you approach with a jeep, they all fly out together, creating a cloud of butterflies that you pass through. I've made it a habit to anticipate on it, shouting "butterfly cloud!" whilst moving my arms in a rainbow motion to receive them. You read it here first, I'm not always a serious man.
Catopsilia pomona is a medium-sized pierid butterfly found in Asia, Cambodia and parts of Australia. The species gets its name from its habit of migration. Some early authors considered them as two distinct species "Catopsilia crocale" and "Catopsilia pomona".
