Night Perch A Western Tarsier clings to the tree trunk in the jungles near Bilit in Malaysia. The tarsier is a nocturnal member of the monkey family. The unique feature of the Western Tarsier is not only the eyes, but also its other features such as extremely long fingers which have pads on the tips and its toes - flattened nails except for the second and third toes; these end with claw-like nails. 1. Hi John,
Thank you for your kind comments. Well also lucky to see, the guide had missed it and I spotted the feet on the tree trunk as the rest of the animal was behind some leaves

  2. Absolutely amazing spotting, glad you saw it. I've once heard their eyes are so large that they cant turn in their sockets, therefore they have to turn their neck to look around. Posted 10 years ago

Horsfield's tarsier , also known as the western tarsier, is the only species of tarsier in the genus ''Cephalopachus''. It occurs on Borneo, Sumatra and nearby islands and is, like other members of the group, entirely nocturnal.
