A morning stretch
I find more often then not, spotting wildlife is like waiting for a bus... you wait for a long time then you get several all at once! Well, these Jackals are the same. I had been going to this reserve for a long time and never seen them, and now i see them every time, and always in the same area. This encounter was a fantastic one, as after this shot, the jackal turned and walked right in front of the vehicle, so close, i could not even fit it in the frame! That being said, this one is my favourite. The reservoir in the background being blown out, and the Jackal strolling through a brighter patch inbetween the shade of the trees. It also remind me of how i think i look walking around at this time in the morning! Head bowed and looked for food! :)

The Indian jackal, also known as the Himalayan jackal is a subspecies of golden jackal native to Pakistan, India, Bhutan, Burma and Nepal. Its karyotype is quite different from that of its Eurasian and African counterparts.
