    Horton Plains is a national park in Sri Lanka that is protected since 1988. It is one of the coolest areas of the country, although we did not experience it as such. It has a lot of endemic plant life and bird life, but we saw virtually none of it as it is well hidden in the pockets of forest. Instead, this is a nice hike across large open plains and rivers.
