  1. Interesting growth, indeed. I wonder if they were tampered with at a younger age. It reminds me of a forest I read about in Poland...

    1. Interesting, never heard of that forest. I do think these trees are tampered with. Perhaps they grow towards to light but if that would be a reason, it would never grow in opposing directions like this. My guess is that it was replanted several times, but I don't know much about gardening. Posted 10 years ago

Araucaria columnaris is a unique species of conifer in the Araucariaceae family. It is endemic to New Caledonia in the southwestern Pacific, where it was first classified by botanists of Captain James Cook's second voyage of exploration.
