Bolivian squirrel monkey (captive)
Cute, but viscous! These little monkeys best form of defense is to attack anything that threatens them en-masse. In the wild, this can mean anything up to 100 monkeys. Along with their shrill screaming it can be a pretty scary experience.
The black-capped squirrel monkey is a South American squirrel monkey, found in Bolivia, Brazil and Peru, inhabiting mostly tropical forested regions. Although very similar to the Common Squirrel monkey (Saimiri sciureus) it is distinguishable by it 'black cap'.
