  1. In total 17 subspecies (acc.to some sources - 19). In Bulgaria two subspecies are recorded - Aegithalos caudatus macedonicus and in winter time - Aegithalos caudatus caudatus.
    These birds are so mobile! Do not stop at one place even for a second. Yesterday, despite the bad cloudy weather I managed to capture both subspecies in the same place.

The long-tailed tit or long-tailed bushtit is a common bird found throughout Europe and Asia. There are several extensive accounts of this species, most notably Cramp and Perrins, 1993; Gaston, 1973; and Harrap and Quinn, 1996. The majority of relevant research has been directed at its social and breeding behaviour.
