    1. Near a lake on the outskirts of Bangalore, India.

      This pic was shot from around 20 feet away. If we move even two feets closer, they would fly away.
      With 200mm lens this is the best I could capture. And this pic has been cropped :/
      That's the reason for the crappy image quality.

      Oh, we also spotted Pied Kingfisher the same day, couldn't capture it though

The Common Kingfisher is a small kingfisher with seven subspecies recognized within its wide distribution across Eurasia and North Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but migrates from areas where rivers freeze in winter.
