
The Sri Lankan Leopard is a leopard subspecies native to Sri Lanka. Classified as "Endangered" by IUCN, the population is believed to be declining due to numerous threats including poaching for trade and human-leopard conflicts. This subspecies is colloquially known as Kotiya in Sinhala and Siruththai in Tamil.

@Ferdy - Looks like a chital stabbed it with its antlers. Chital would be a stable food source. Either that wold boar perhaps.
@wildflower - probably not... I think like India, the Sri Lankan policy is let wild animals be wild, with all its inherent risks! Posted 10 years ago
