Yeah - snow! It's been so strangely warm here that until just a few days ago the freezing level was up at 10,000 feet! It finally fell and along with it, some fresh snow at Paradise on Mt. Rainier. Time for a little snowshoeing. One really nice thing is that with snow on the ground you can go wherever you like, unlike summer time when you have to stay on the trails to protect the meadows. 1. So glad to see some more snow on the ground! We also got about 2 inches overnight, but it all melted by midday. Enjoy the snowshoeing and winter scenes while you can! :) Posted 10 years ago
    1. It's hard to find these days - no snow at all until up around 4500 - 5000ish feet, so you have to be able to get way up in the mountains to find it at all, and that which is there has been rained on so much that it's hard and crunchy in most places. It finally snowed a couple days in a row, without also raining at Paradise, so there was a good layer of nice fluffy new stuff. Still it's way low - only around 60 inches where they measure and normally there's 170… Hurricane ridge over in the Olympics is pretty much bare :( Posted 10 years ago
  2. Wow, morpheme, this really is a textbook example of a great landscape photo, in particular having a very strong composition with the eye being guide along the water. You're a very versatile photographer. Posted 10 years ago
