
Blue whale
It used to be you could see them from the shore of sri lanka, now, you need to go out about 1-2hrs to get to see them, but see them you will. During their migrations they pass the southern tip of Sri lanka in huge pods(?). There are also some permanent blue whale pods(?) in and around sri lanka! amazing, but it is becoming far too touristic! :(

The blue whale is a marine mammal belonging to the suborder of baleen whales . At 30 metres in length and 170 tonnes or more in weight, it is the largest known animal to have ever existed.
Long and slender, the blue whale's body can be various shades of bluish-grey dorsally and somewhat lighter underneath.
