  1. I am not 100% sure, but this mushroom looks more like Turkey Tail then Zoned Cork Hyndum. Posted 10 years ago
    1. I'm pretty sure this wasn't a turkey tail - it was definitely growing on the ground unless there was wood buried rather deeply. I'm think I confirmed it was toothed rather than pored too when I was there. Posted 10 years ago

''Phellodon tomentosus'', commonly known as the zoned cork hydnum, is a species of tooth fungus in the family Bankeraceae. First described as ''Hydnum tomentosum'' by Carl Linnaeus in 1753, it was transferred to the genus ''Phellodon'' by Howard James Banker in 1906. It is found in Asia, Europe, and North America.
