  2. very very small - these ones were actually much bigger than others that I've seen. Once I was photographing mycena. When I came home and looked at the images in Photoshop I realized that there were wee tiny springtails all over them. I hadn't even seen them when I took the photos. Posted 10 years ago

Snow fleas are a species of dark blue springtail, ''Hypogastrura nivicola''. They are often seen jumping about on the surface of snow on a warm winter day.
