Trap - Oriental hornet In the area I took this photo hundreds of pesky wasps and hornets are flying around. People constantly frighten them away, but they are damn annoying and frightening. That's why people invent different ways to entice them away and eventually kill them.
How they prepare this trap:
For this purpose they utilize a piece of dried reed. In a plastic bottle pour water and put a few pieces of raw meat, than at the upper part two opposite holes are drilled and the reed tube inserted.
Insects are attracted by the smell, enter through the tube into the bottle and can not find their way back out and drown. Geotagged,Greece,Oriental hornet,Summer,Vespa orientalis, arthropoda, hymenoptera, insect, nature, vespidae Click/tap to enlarge

The Oriental hornet, ''Vespa orientalis'', is a hornet which looks very similar to the European hornet. It should not be confused with the Asian giant hornet .

It is commonly found in the Sub-Mediterranean area, but can also be found in Madagascar, United Arab Emirates and India. However, due to human introduction, its habitat is beginning to spread to South America up to Mexico.

The female queen measures 25 to 35 mm long; males and workers are smaller.
