  1. I have done some research but no success I am afraid, it appears there are hundreds of different cicadas but I can't seem to find a match for this one. I will keep trying! Posted 10 years ago
    1. I have researched this one too and the closest so far is Bronze Bark-buzzer - Pauropsalta circumdata what do you think? Posted 10 years ago
      1. Do you have a top view, it would be easier to compare the pattern? Posted 10 years ago

  2. I am really not sure and I do not think P.circumdata is in PNG. I found this:
    https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=hY5qAAAAQBAJ&pg=PA549&lpg=PA549&dq=Pauropsalta+circumdata+papua+new+guinea&source=bl&ots=VX2v_1963g&sig=oM8VTFQy6jwZamY7w7Xebcq2UQQ&hl=en&sa=X&ei=_wrfVLr_NIS5UYzLg5AH&ved=0CCEQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=Pauropsalta%20circumdata%20papua%20new%20guinea&f=false
This site is quite helpful but their picture of P.circumdata does not have the red eyes. Other pictures I have seen also show it to be more red in body whereas uyours is more green.

Another site that is quite useful:

My apologies if you have looked at these already.
So far I have only found one site that had photos just of the Papuan cicadas but there were only about 10 photos, none of which matched and now I can't find the site!
    Hard isn't it!!!!
