    thank you for voting on my hummingbird hawkmoth pic. I love your photos, of so many beautiful creatures and flowers. So you live in Bulgaria? When I look at your photos I cannot believe that they have not been taken in Austrlalia. Europe has amazing creatures hey?
    I have been trying to get a pic of this beautiful ermine moth, very similar to the one you have here, I had no idea where to begin identifying it, and here is your awesome ID. Thank you.

The Thistle Ermine, ''Myelois circumvoluta'', is a small moth species of the family Pyralidae. It is found in Europe.

This pyralid has a pattern of black dots on its whitish forewings, resembling many ermine moths . Among the Lepidoptera, the pyralids and the ermine moths are not closely related, however: the latter are basal Ditrysia, while the former belong to the much more advanced Obtectomera.

The wingspan is 27–33 millimetres . The moth flies in one generation in late.. more
