Mangrove pitta
I was walking along a dense track in the mangroves of Bhitakanika when this bird darted in front of me. At first I thought it was kingfisher, but then it landed among the mangrove roots. I had 3 seconds to fire of this obscured shot before it disappears beyond reach. It was only when i got back, I had time to ID it! :)

The mangrove pitta is a species of passerine bird in the Pittidae family native to Southeast Asia and South Asia. It is part of a superspecies but has no recognized subspecies.
