  2. Amazing! The reason I got interested in this country is that on TV I saw a scientific expedition to a remote area there (some kind of crater) where the scientists were tasked with finding as many new species as possible. Not only did they find a new mammal (which is very rare), there was also an entomologist looking for new insects. At night he pulled out a white sheet of blanket and shone a light on it. Soon after, he was overwhelmed with hundreds of different moth species on just that sheet alone, of which dozens were never described by science. Posted 10 years ago

"Daphnis moorei" is a moth of the Sphingidae family. It is known from Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the northern half of Australia. The forewing upperside is similar to "Daphnis hypothous".
