Colorful little fellow This bright orange and dark blue bird was found sitting on a branch at Yala National Park. I'm not quite sure what species it is but it shouldn't be too hard to look up. Colorful little fellow

This bright orange and dark blue bird was found sitting on a branch at Yala National Park. I'm not quite sure what species it is but it shouldn't be too hard to look up. At times like these, I wish I would have just that tiny little more reach at the far end of my telezoom lens.

  1. I've been in that "reach" situation so many times. It seems one never has enough of it. In those cases, I rely on cropping (36MP photos coming from the D800) but that only works as long as it is really sharp at the pixel level, which is hard with such a sensor. Posted 10 years ago

The Indian paradise flycatcher is a medium-sized passerine bird native to Asia, where it is widely distributed. As the global population is considered stable, it has been listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List since 2004. It is native to the Indian subcontinent, Central Asia and Myanmar.
