Juvenile Nursehound Shark (Scyliorhinus stellaris) lies on the seabed, Cirkewwa, Malta.
This Nursehound shark was photographed back in its natural environment, being one of many released back into the wild after being reared in captivity by members of Sharklab-Malta organisation. The juvenile sharks were initially captured in their embryonic state (as a mermaids purse) from dead sharks landed at the local Maltese fish markets.
