Incomplete make-Up!! I have seen a complete albino Indian Palm Squirrel but never a leucistic like this!! Albinism is a hereditary disorder associated with just one pigment, leucism is associated with multiple pigments. The main key identification factor of leucism and albinism is the eye color. The albinos have red color while leucistics have normal colored eyes.

Leucistics are usually blonde or with patches of normal and pale colors. However this palm squirrel is a real wonder, just look at how it is half normal and half abino, it is ad if the squirrel was powdered from half was down. It was a treat to watch this wonder. 2. If you are ever up in Canada go over to the George C. Reifel Bird Sanctuary. They have a big population of albino and melanistic squirrels. Posted 10 years ago

The Indian palm squirrel also known as three-striped palm squirrel, is a species of rodent in the Sciuridae family that can be easily domesticated and kept as a pet. It is found naturally in India and Sri Lanka. In the late 19th century, the Palm squirrel was accidentally introduced into Western Australia, where it has since become a minor pest that is actively targeted for eradication due to its lack of natural predators.
