A'ama Crab Also know as the rock crab, this little guy lives on the shoreline in shallow tidal pools and on black lava rocks.  They jump from rock to rock and help keep the shoreline clean.  They are also a food source in Hawaii and they are used as bait.  They can be seen on the black lava rocks in Lahaina, Maui riding the waves! ''Grapsus grapsus'' is one of the most common crabs along the western coast of the Americas. It is known variously as, "red rock crab", "abuete negro", and along with crabs such as ''Percnon gibbesi'' as, "Sally Lightfoot".
