    Coyote in Action - British Columbia We often see coyotes on the river bank while driving up and down the river for work, and we often "chase" them. We are not really chasing them of course. We are just running the river in our boat, but they don't know that. They are very skittish animals, and they do what they do best when startled: run. <br /> <br /> This particular dog did just that, and for along time. Usually a coyote will do one of two things when we get close to it in our boat: it will either run up the bank and out of sight, or it will simply stop and lie down real low. This dog did neither. It just kept running, making for some interesting shots. This is the best from the series.<br /> <br /> Mind you that our boat cruises at around 40 kilometers an hour and this dog is in a full out sprint. The Mountain coyote

The Mountain coyote (Canis latrans lestes), also known as the Great Basin coyote, is a subspecies of coyote native to British Columbia and southeastern Alberta south to Utah and Nevada. It is similar to ''C. l. latrans'', but has lighter-colored upper parts.
