  1. Lovely capture! I really like the warm bokeh. This is actually a damselfly, as the wings are folded together over the fly's abdomen. Dragonflies wings are displayed out from both sides of the fly's body. Where did you take this photo? If you getoag it, using the "geotag this photo" button to right of the photo, someone may be able to help you identify it.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask either here or in the forum :)

    1. Thank you so much for your help! Wow, you just taught me two things (the words 'bokeh' and damsefly). I geotagged the picture and looked up the citrine forktail (seems spot-on). Thanks for the motivation :) Posted 10 years ago
  2. It looks like a male citrine forktail Ischnura hastata:

      1. Glad you like it :)

By the way, I saw you requesting manual species creation on another photo, for species "Scoliidae". Note that this is not a species, rather it is a group of species, it is therefore not specific enough.

        1. Ah, okay. Thank you for clarifying that. Posted 10 years ago
  4. Incredible image. Great bokeh. The damselfly really pops against the blurred out background. Posted 10 years ago

The Citrine forktail, ''Ischnura hastata'', is a damselfly of the family Coenagrionidae.
