These little guys are so poisonous that they have no natural enemies, except maybe garter snakes, which are immune… (they've been seen to crawl out of the mouths of dead birds unfortunate enough to try to sample them..) so they have little to no fear of much of anything. They don't move particularly quickly and don't mind being handled - and it's OK to do that, their poison is in their skin, not excreted, so it's safe to pick them up so long as you don't try to take a nibble and to be sure wash your hands afterwards.           1. It won't be soon (we usually visit tropical countries), but I imagine definitely one day I'll get to experience some US wildlife. You're definitely blessed to have such a huge country with so many types of landscapes and eco systems. Posted 10 years ago
