  1. This photo is sharp and clear, but appears to be a touch over-exposed. The light in the background is harsh, and the detail on the bull is a little faded. Also, some minor composition errors are present, in that the feet of the bull and the antlers, which so many people like to see bull elk for, are cut off. I noticed that this photo was taken at a focal length of 171 mm. Perhaps a smaller focal length would have allowed a full view of the elk in its entirety.

    Just some things to think of on your next trip :)

The elk or wapiti is one of the largest species within the deer family, Cervidae, in the world, and one of the largest land mammals in North America and Eastern Asia.
