Tamias Sibiricus - Siberian Chipmunk

I can't believe my eye, he just walk towards me when I take a walk at the forest. I need to move slowly to take his picture using my galaxy S5. I wish I bring my Nikon. It is known as Tamias Sibiricus, I hope anyone in here can help me to find more about this creature. In 2008 they said it status is LC but I heard nowadays it become protected animals. Is it right?

From I can gather on this species, it's status is still of least concern. It looks like it has been introduced widely across Europe, outside of its native range. Posted 10 years ago

The Siberian chipmunk

The Siberian chipmunk or common chipmunk appears across northern Asia from central Russia to China, Korea, and Hokkaidō in northern Japan. The Siberian chipmunk was imported from South Korea and introduced in Europe as a pet in the 1960s. It is the only chipmunk found outside North America, and this animal is classed either as the only living member of the genus "Eutamias", or as a member of a genus including all chipmunks.
