Cotton stainers

The unknown immature true bugs from India are adults of “cotton stainers” in the genus Dysdercus, family Pyrrhocoridae.

Dysdercus cingulatus was reported to feed on several species belonging to the plant family Malvaceae as well as a few species of Bombacaceae. It is the most serious pest of cotton in South and Southeast Asia.
