Kudu Calf - Ears of Format and Face of Adornment
A Greater Kudu calf poses for a classic photograph. With those enormous ears this species can pick up the slightest noise from far away.
It is said that when God created the earth and all the animals on it, He was so pleased with His Kudu creation that he rubbed his thumbs from eye to eye. Thus this classic white stripe was made between the two eyes.
The Greater Kudu is a woodland antelope found throughout eastern and southern Africa. Despite occupying such widespread territory, they are sparsely populated in most areas, due to a declining habitat, deforestation and hunting.
