  1. This was taken at Perth Zoo in Australia during one of the very few times they were quiet. Most of the time they were both leaping from branch to branch, but hunger called! Posted 10 years ago

      The Perth zoo is doing great work with these species, as they are near-extinction.

The northern white-cheeked gibbon is a species of gibbon native to Vietnam, Laos, and the Yunnan province of China. It is closely related to the southern white-cheeked gibbon, with which it was previously considered conspecific. The females of the two species are virtually indistinguishable in appearance.
