Flight of the Golden Eagle
This is the first golden eagle I have ever photographed. I saw it feeding on a road-killed deer carcass while driving through south-eastern Montana. It sat very nice and still until I stopped my vehicle. Then it flew as soon as I was ready to photograph it. Typical birds. I was fortunate to snap this photo as it circled back around though.

The Golden Eagle is one of the best known birds of prey in the Northern Hemisphere. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. Once widespread across the Holarctic, it has disappeared from many of the more heavily populated areas.
