Eye contact with an osprey I so wish I could have caught this shot better technically, but it was one of the first I did after getting my first DSLR in June 2013 and I was still in a steep learning curve.  This, BTW, is my favorite osprey Fleck whom I had just met and whom I have since often photographed which includes my favorite shot of all-time which is the species photo used for this shot. The osprey, also called sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk, is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range. It is a large raptor reaching more than 60 cm in length and 180 cm across the wings. It is brown on the upperparts and predominantly greyish on the head and underparts.
