American Mallard
These ducks can often be found in a set of Coy ponds running through this Baltimore city neighborhood. They are wary of the local dogs but come to the edge of the ponds when humans walk by in hopes of some food. They mostly live off the plants and algae growing in the ponds.

The mallard or wild duck is a dabbling duck that breeds throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas, Eurasia, and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Falkland Islands, and South Africa.
