Banana..
This shot has a very interesting story to it. In the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, there is a hummingbird feeding station. There are bird feeders full of nectar and the experts explain the species coming to the feeders. Hummingbirds are very hard to identify because they are small, very fast and most of them change colour varying on the angle of the light. While I was eagerly taking photos of the hummingbirds, this one came right next to me and stood there for minutes as if seeking attention. The moment I took several shots of the bird, it took off. It's job was done; bananaquit was officially in my portfolio : ) It was taken with a 100mm f2.8 macro lens and bird photographers will know that it's from a ridiculously close distance : )
The bananaquit is a species of passerine bird of uncertain relation. This small, active nectarivore is found in warmer parts of the Americas, and is generally common.
