Good old days... Nakuru used to be one of the best places to see millions of lesser flamingos. The sound, the smell, the pink cover on the lake; it was all overwhelming. However, during the recent years, flamingos (along with many other wading birds) have abandoned Lake Nakuru due to flooding. The Lesser Flamingo is a species of flamingo occurring in sub-Saharan Africa with another population in India. Birds are occasionally reported from further north, but these are generally considered vagrants.
