  4. lol.. the kingfishers that we have around here are scaredy cats. Even when I'm in the very quiet and relatively unobtrusive kayak, they sight me from a quarter mile away and fly away scolding me the whole time. Posted 4 years ago
    1. I bear witness to the same behavior from the belted kingfishers here in Idaho. I have tried several times to hide along open streams to photograph them, but they always keep their distance, taunting me. Posted 4 years ago

The White-throated Kingfisher also known as the White-breasted Kingfisher or Smyrna Kingfisher, is a tree kingfisher, widely distributed in Eurasia from Bulgaria, Turkey, West Asia east through the Indian Subcontinent to the Philippines.
