Little Cormorant in Wilpaththu, Sri Lanka
The Little Cormorant and the Indian Cormorant look alike, yet they can be distinguished by the shape of their bill, the Little Cormorant has a shorter and less curvy bill, and it is of course small. This all-black plumage is their breeding plumage, I am unsure whether this is a male or female though.

The little cormorant is a member of the cormorant family of seabirds. Slightly smaller than the Indian cormorant it lacks a peaked head and has a shorter beak. It is widely distributed across the Indian Subcontinent and extends east to Java, where it is sometimes called the Javanese cormorant.
