  1. I love the different general personalities or characteristic qualities we associate with different animals. Whether they be comical or serious or dramatic, there are many different animal species that I often associate different gimmicks with. The panic-ridden, busy American dipper, the frustrated moose who is too lazy to do anything about your presence but will stare into you until you understand it is peeved off by you. Or how about the common carp that seemingly leaps out of the water for no apparent reason other than it wants attention and is saying "hey everyone, look at me, pay attention to me". 1. So true, we try to translate what we see to human characteristics. Posted 10 years ago

The great stone-curlew or great thick-knee is a large wader which is a resident breeder in tropical southern Asia from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka into South-east Asia. This species prefers gravel banks along rivers or large lakes, and also beaches. A single egg is laid in a bare scrape on the open shingle.
