Taken from a jeep, hence the poor angle. I did not realize during the taking of the photo, however, that this would be a species intro, and quite an interesting species.

  1. I rather enjoy the angle here, Ferdy. It shows a unique positioning of this little lizard and the unique pattern on its back. It also shows off his camouflage ability in the sand. Posted 10 years ago

The fan-throated lizard is a species of agamid lizard found in India. It was earlier thought to be widespread but studies in 2016 resulted in the splitting of the group into several species placed in two genera.

The species is found mostly on the ground in open ground patches in thin forests. When disturbed this lizard sometimes runs with a bipedal gait.
