Wood SandPiper, Wilpaththu, Sri Lanka I've yet a lot to learn about shore birds. Based on my Sri Lanka birds book this is either a Wood Sandpiper or a Common Sandpiper. I'm going with the Wood Sandpiper as they have a thinner head and neck than the common species. Asia,Sri Lanka,Tringa glareola,Wilpaththu,Wood Sandpiper Click/tap to enlarge

The Wood Sandpiper is a small wader. This Eurasian species is the smallest of the shanks, which are mid-sized long-legged waders of the family Scolopacidae.
