Gymnopleurus koenigi in Wilpaththu, Sri Lanka In Wilpaththu we found this group of dung beetles competing over a pile of dung. I&#039;m having trouble finding the exact species as information is very limited online. A notable identification clue may be the yellow spots on their back, but I&#039;m unable to match it with anything so far. Closeup:<br />

  1. Well, I have searched and searched but sorry, I cannot find anything like this, do you perhaps have a better view of the head part? Posted 10 years ago
    1. Sorry, not really, their heads are always facing down. A tough one this is, can't anything similar either. Posted 10 years ago
  2. I think this might be Gymnopleurus koenigi. It's found on Sri Lanka and is a visual match.
