        I had two target species in mind on my outing today. I saw and photographed (from a distance) one, the belted kingfisher. I am going to wait and see if I get a better capture in the future. The other, the bohemian waxwing, were heard a few times today, but never sighted. I did however photograph three other birds that I was completely stoked about, 2 of them I have never photographed before!           I'm about to check what you saw and hopefully shared here, but kudos to you for the bird inspiration. I never started out as a bird fan but they are so everywhere and so "collectible" that it can become quite a hobby. Posted 10 years ago

            I have never really given birds much thought. But you are right, they are everywhere and readily available. With a little research and work, photographing many different species is quite attainable. Posted 10 years ago

The Green Bee-Eater

The Asian green bee-eater is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family. It is resident but prone to seasonal movements and is found widely distributed across Asia from coastal southern Iran east through the Indian subcontinent to Vietnam. Populations in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula that were formerly assigned to this species are now considered distinct species.
