A lot more shy than the male, we've only seen two of these during our roundtrip in Sri Lanka.

    1. Associations are hard to beat. I have the same thing with peafowls, truly a spectacular bird. However, as every zoo and hobby farmer has them in the Netherlands, the association is that it is a general and common bird. Posted 10 years ago

The Sri Lankan Junglefowl , also known during the colonial era as the Ceylon Junglefowl, is a member of the Galliformes bird order which is endemic to Sri Lanka, where it is the national bird.
