  2. Yeah - for a day that was supposed to be nasty and raining hard all day, it turned out rather nice. We stayed a little closer to home and managed to go to two parks, a state park and a wildlife refuge on an estuary. The state park is small, but it is a relatively untouched parcel of old growth forest, which is in itself uncommon and may be why I found so much neat stuff there and at the estuary, it looks like the winter migrants are really starting to arrive. The dunlin is a small wader, sometimes separated with the other "stints" in "Erolia". It is a circumpolar breeder in Arctic or subarctic regions.
