  1. Nice photo! He blends in very well. However, I do not believe this to be the Australian green mantis. As its name suggests, it is found in Australia. I am currently looking for Mantid genera known and found in Mexico, but there are many, many genera and species within the Mantid family. Posted 10 years ago
    1. It's difficult to see which one is the right name, there are so many... Posted 10 years ago, modified 10 years ago
  2. Yes, it's from Mexico, not Australian, but they look the same, going to search for information about it, thank you. Posted 10 years ago
    1. The European Mantis is not very likely either. Carolina mantis (Stagmomantis carolina) and Stagmomantis limbata are found in Mexico. Maybe it is one of them or anoher one, but it is hard to tell from this photo. Posted 10 years ago
      1. Thank you for your comments, I had more pictures from this Mantis, could send some to your email if you want, because for this site I choose just one, regards! Posted 10 years ago

The Carolina mantis is a praying mantis that is one of six species found in North America. Sexual cannibalism occurs in roughly one quarter of all intersexual encounters of this species, though specimens of this species will engage in cannibalism regardless of age or gender if the opportunity presents itself.
