Blue-eyed Darner The blue-eyed darner is a dragonfly belonging to the darner family (Aeshnidae) and is found from British Columbia south through United States to Texas. This specimen had seen better days. Their flight time is from June to October. I found this male towards the end of his lifespan, as it was October 21. Captured in north Idaho. The blue-eyed darner is a dragonfly belonging to the darner family (Aeshnidae) and is found from British Columbia south through United States to Texas. This specimen had seen better days. Their flight time is from June to October. I found this male towards the end of his lifespan, as it was October 21. Captured in north Idaho.

The blue-eyed darner is a dragonfly of the family Aeshnidae. The blue-eyed darner is a common dragonfly of the western United States commonly sighted in the sagebrush steppe of the Snake River Plain, occurring east to the Midwest from central Canada and the Dakotas south to west Texas and Oklahoma. In Central America it occurs south to Panama.
