Membranous Dog-lichen Just having a dog day, I guess. This is another interesting lichen I came across. It was growing directly on the ground for the most part and came in two color variations, olive and gray (age related maybe?) ''Peltigera membranacea'' is a species of lichenized fungus in the family Peltigeraceae. It has a foliose growth pattern, with what appear to be veins in the leaf-like parts, but these do not have a vascular function.
