Beetle arises from fallen fungus As I get more practice photographing fungi, increasingly I'm doing some "gardening" to clean up the scene: removing twigs, leafs, etc from the forest floor, all unobtrusively. In this case, a far-gone rotting fungus was in the way so I knocked it over. To my surprise this beetle came out from the inside of the fungus. I'm not sure why or if they even eat them.
