  1. This picture is of a Fallow Buck. Probably taken in a park of a stately home or large estate. There appears to be a number of other deer in the picture. Fallow Deer are found in groups and the buck will often be on its own resting during the rut. Posted 9 years ago, modified 9 years ago

The Fallow Deer is a ruminant mammal belonging to the family Cervidae. This common species is native to western Eurasia, but has been introduced widely elsewhere. It often includes the rarer Persian Fallow Deer as a subspecies, while others treat it as an entirely different species.
