Mourning Cloak
This butterfly, known as the mourning cloak here in the states, has several other interesting names, including Camberwell beauty in Britain, and also older names such as grand surprise and white petticoat. They also are one of the longest living butterfly species, often living up to a full year. Captured in north-west Wyoming.

"Nymphalis antiopa", known as the Mourning Cloak in North America and the Camberwell Beauty in Britain, is a large butterfly native to Eurasia and North America. See also Anglewing butterflies. The immature form of this species is sometimes known as the spiny elm caterpillar.
